چکیده
The use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies for the development water quality management programs post-implementation assessments has increased dramatically in past decade. This increase adoption been made more accessible through interfaces many popular software tools used regulation assessment quality. Customized applications these will increase, as ease access affordability directly monitored remotely sensed datasets improve over time. Concurrently, there is a need inclusive participatory engagement with stakeholders to achieve solutions current watershed challenges. paper explores potential GIS datasets, tools, models, immersive from other domains, improving public participation stakeholder throughout planning process. To do so, an initial review presented about its role impairment identification, model development, implementation. Then, ways which can be integrated (1) leveraging (2) approaches including outreach education, modeler-led stakeholder-led involvement feedback, are discussed. Finally, future perspectives on transforming process presented.

Remote Sensing and Gis Applications in Agriculture
1. Introduction The number of satellite missions dedicated to remote sensing (or Earth Observation (EO)) has increased significantly over the past decade and will further increase over the coming decade and beyond. Data from these missions offer the potential for contributing to the security of human existence on Earth in different ways. Although there have been many demonstrations of the value...
متن کاملGIS and Remote Sensing Applications for Watershed Planning in the Maumee River Basin, Ohio
The Maumee River watershed is the largest drainage basin that discharges into the Great Lakes. Although the watershed is largely a rural landscape, several major urban-industrial cities, including Fort Wayne and Toledo are located along the river. Many water quality concerns are present, especially nonpoint rural runoff that contributes significant amounts of sediment into the Maumee River. The...
متن کاملUse of remote sensing and GIS for sustainable land management
Remote sensing provides the basic data to undertake inventory of land, as well as the temporal information required to monitor sustainable land management practices. In this paper, the current use of remote sensing for sustainable land management is reviewed, and the potential of future (new) satellite systems to contribute to sustainable development is explored. Other elements for successful s...
متن کاملStakeholder and public participation in river basin management—an introduction
Participation of the public and stakeholders in river basin management is increasingly promoted because it is expected to improve resource management and enable participants to engage freely and equally in management (support democratic processes). Three overlapping and interacting mechanisms by which participation is expected to enhance river basin management are outlined: (1) providing space ...
